He was a loving and caring father, son and brother which will be greatly missed. Mr. Berrey was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and worked as a flight test electrician with the Civil Service. He is preceded in death by his parents; Lavergia Samuel Berrey and Lily Mae Bryars Berrey, and a sister; Frances Erwin. Mr. Berrey is survived by a daughter: Fran B. (Noel) Bellas of Covington, LA, three sons; William C. (Leslie) Berrey of Gulf Shores AL, Richard C. Berrey of Saraland AL, and Ivan S. Berrey of Mobile AL, sister; Annette Moncrief, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Bayou Sara Baptist Church with a visitation at the Church from 11:00 until service time. ]]> Mabel McDonald Rush [  - 04/17/2012] Mabel McDonald Rush, 89, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. She was a native of Clark County, AL and a long time resident of Mobile County, AL. She was a long standing member of Knollwood Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Rush was a charter class graduate of the University of Mobile in 1967 and was the recipient of the J.L. Bedsole Improvement Award. Mrs. Rush taught school for 25 years in public and private schools, during which time she received her Master of Arts in education. Mrs. Rush was also the Valedictorian of her high school graduating class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Quinton W. Rush; daughter, Dianne R. Cottrell; grandson, Jeremy M. Cottrell; parents, Carlos and Alice McDonald; four brothers, Fred, Herman, Watson and Alexander McDonald. She is survived by daughters, Nelda R. Woodall (Tommy) of Resaca, GA, Sandra R. Covington (Charles) of Longwood, FL and sons, Neville Q. Rush (Joyce) of Panama City, FL, and Carl A. Rush (Stacy) of Alexandria, VA. In addition she is survived by 5 sisters, Marlene Brock, Theda Ertzgard, Faye Stevens (Everette), Ouida McIntyre, Anna Welsh and one brother, Calvin McDonald. Mrs. Rush has 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation for the public will be from 9:30AM to 11:00AM with a memorial service beginning at 11:00AM on Tuesday, April 24th at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 9700 Celeste Road, Saraland, AL.
